Summer Term TIMELINE

Each student has been placed in a team for their Community Project . Students will receive a Classwork Group with their team and mentor attached. Criterion A & B will be assigned through a Numbers collaborative document.(this will be referred to as your Process journal)

PHASE

 

Immersion

  • Community Project Launch Wednesday 8th March.
    Introduction of the Community Project to past students presentations, external and internal community organisation on display. Interact with the different service providers
  • Learn about the process journal and the importance of maintaining it during each step of the way.
  • Consider the types of service as action. 

Investigation

  • Research needs of local and global communities to narrow down ideas. 
  • Use the JML to find resources that will help.
  • Use research to define a clear goal.
  • Identify prior learning.
  • Record research and all developments in the Process Journal
  • Meet supervisor Criterion A for Formative Assessment Due
  • DUE 8 May

Planning

  • Develop a proposal for action. Pitch your idea to a number of people and get some feedback. 
  • Continue research to create the action plan for the service.
  • Record all information and developments in the process journal.
  • Check in with supervisor.

Taking Action

  • Carry out each step of the service as action plan.
  • Record developments in the Process Journal. Include photos of the action if possible.
  • Check in with supervisor. 
  • ACTION TO BE COMPLETED BY WEEK 2 OF TERM 3

Presentation

Create culminating team (PowerPoint) to present to parent, community members and staff

  • Due Week 2 Term 4.

Reflection

  • Reflect on the work you have done by looking back at the assessment overview and rubrics. 
  • FINAL SUBMISSION WEEK 3 TERM 4

  • Explore goal with parents (research & plan)
  • Work in the Numbers Process Journal.
  • Liaise with group members through Teams

Autumn Term TIMELINE

AUTUMN TERM 2

Each team have their own Community Project Process Journal. This platform outlines timelines and tasks to be completed and is a location where students will collate the documentation of their Community Project.

 

  • Finalise written goal
  • Investigation phase (further research)
  • Planning phase (action plan)
  • Organise a scheduled meeting with their Community Project mentor
  • Taking Action phase (by Week 8)

 

Winter Holidays TIMELINE

WINTER HOLIDAYS

  • Continue work on your service action 
  • Complete all direct action for Community Project

  • Ensure Taking Action phase is complete
  • Action recorded in Action Plan
  • Reflection phase
