Appendices allow you to include detailed information in your paper that would be distracting in the main body of the paper.
Examples of items you might have in an appendix include:
tables, graphs, illustrations
a questionnaire used in research
source evaluations
a detailed description of an apparatus used in your research
lists of words
mathematical proofs
Rules
The appendices follow the reference list/bibliography.
Do not combine multiple types of items into the same list. ie. tables and graphs OR tables and copies of journal entries
They are labelled Appendix A, Appendix B, Appendix C, and so forth.
Title each appendix underneath the appendix label.
The label and title should be centred.
Figures and tables in the appendices are labeled A1, A2, B1, and so forth, according to the appendix in which they appear. (Note: Omit the number if there is only one item in the appendix) ie. Table A1, Table A2, Figure B1, Figure B2
Tables are labelled above the table; Figures are labelled below the image/graph/photograph etc.
You must refer to your appendices in the body of your report. ie. (see Appendix A)
