Report Writing Tips

Writing a report

Your report should include:

A Cover Page which includes;
Your over-arching research question.
The name of your volcano.
Your name and homeroom class.                                                                                                                                                                          A labelled image of a volcano.

Your report should include:
An Introduction which outlines your main ideas relating to land use, hazards and precautions.
main body of your report that has 3 topics. These topics should be your main ideas.
Each of your main ideas should each have its own heading and sub-headings.

Each paragraph should be structured using RAPS to fully explore the topic:
Re-state the question (or introduce the main idea of the paragraph)
Answer the question (explain the main idea in detail)
Proof
Sum it up
Finally, include a concluding paragraph that summarises the main ideas discussed in the report.

Don't forget to include in-text and paraphrased references to support your main ideas.

Label/caption any image you use.

A correctly formatted reference list should be your last page. http://library.scotch.wa.edu.au/referencing
